Preface

This isn’t your typical, flashy cookbook: it was originally created as a simple reference guide for myself and my flatmate when I was living in Vienna. I’d often find myself at the supermarket, only to forget half of what I needed. To avoid multiple trips, I started writing down the recipes—simple, practical, and ready to be checked whenever necessary.

There are no fancy pictures here, only a few illustrations where needed to explain specific techniques. I personally don’t care much for photos, as they set expectations and can limit creativity. Sure, you can find tons of mouthwatering pictures of the dishes online, but that’s not the point of this book. The goal here is to inspire your own creative twist on the recipes.

I also have to mention that this manual might come off as a bit “boring” because of how detailed the steps and ingredients are. I tend to forget things when I cook, and I really don’t like that feeling. So, I prefer to write everything down clearly step-by-step, so nothing gets missed.
